How are you using your social outlets (facebook, blogs, twitters, etc.). Are you misusing it to the point that it is annoying? Are you using it only as self promotion, or are you using it to develop a relationship?
We like to showcase our new stuff, we like to tell you when we win things or are showcased in design galleries. I think that’s normal and it shows potential clients that you have what it takes to develop award-winning products. But we also intersperse our own gloating with other things. It (in my opinion) takes us from being an untouchable entity to real, living people with real lives doing real things. Now more than ever, that’s what people want: something real.
When yourself is all you talk about, when it’s all you know, let me tell you, you’re treading dangerous waters, my friend, dangerous indeed.
What we are saying is: We’re tired of reading about how awesome you are.
Yes, you will see us take pride in our work and showcase our projects (and even gloat about the cool things we’ve done), but as soon as that’s all you see from us, you have my permission to call us out on it.
So here’s the trade secret: Become real.

::: NOTE :::
This is not necessarily the mindset of Concept Culture as a whole, but it’s probably pretty close. And don’t fool yourself into thinking this only pertains to creative agencies. It doesn’t.
